I had the chance to spend three days in Seattle ahead of my dream trip to Alaska.  Seattle has always been on my list of places to visit as I’ve grown older and especially since Grey’s Anatomy came on.  It’s all about the TV shows, right??? I remember visiting years ago when I was a wee bit younger and I’ve wanted to return as I’ve grown ……wiser.

Seattle has a ton of things to do and see, but I have to say that I had a great time at some of the obvious tourist places to visit: Pike Market, the Space Needle, Chihuly, and Pugent Sound. My home state of Georgia is great, but we don’t get to see water and mountains in my neck of the woods.  Honestly, I could just stare at the natural wonders of Washington and be satisfied.  The amazing views of Mt. Rainier are enough to take your breath away.

Here is a list of my favorite attractions to visit during my weekend trip to Seattle:View from the Space Needle | Seattle Vacation | Places to Visit in Seattle | Seattle Tourist | My Favorite Attractions in Seattle

Chihuly Garden and Glass

I fell in love with Chihuly Glass after seeing a documentary years ago.  The Atlanta Botanical Garden was host to one of the Chihuly art installations and that was my first time being able to see it in person.

Walking into the exhibit in Seattle was a dream.  We were in awe of the craftsmanship that went into creating such splendid displays of color and movement with glass.  There was so much to see and I couldn’t help but to use all the battery power on my phone snapping pictures.  If you are in Seattle, you need to put this on your list of must see’s.

Space Needle

Oh wow! What can I say about this place that hasn’t been said.  The VIEW! Oh wow! You can see for miles and miles and miles.  It’s easier for me to just show you in pictures how spectacular it is at the top and that still won’t do the experience justice. Don’t write off this attraction as just a tourist trap.  It’s anything but! You must visit the Space Needle while in Seattle.View from the Space Needle | Seattle Vacation | Places to Visit in Seattle | Seattle Tourist | My Favorite Attractions in Seattle

Pike Place Market

I just came here for the flowers.  Really, I did! You can get a bouquet of cut flowers for as low as $10 that look like this:

Puget Sound

You can enjoy beautiful views all around Seattle of the Puget Sound.  Park your car and talk a walk on the coastline or even hop on the ferry.  Either way, you’ll be glad you did.

Although I had a short time in Seattle, there were some pretty amazing attractions that I’m glad I was able to experience.  I can’t wait to visit Seattle again and I hope you get a chance to see these attractions during your trip to this beautiful city.
